Softball Game Preview: Glenn Eagles vs. Magnolia Sentinels

Glenn is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Magnolia a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Glenn Eagles will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Magnolia Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. Magnolia took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenn, who comes in off a win.

Glenn is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Century. Glenn put the hurt on Century with a sharp 21-2 victory on Friday.

Carissa Galvan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only three hits, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Amaya Yanez was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. Kimberly Diaz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Magnolia lost 13-2 to La Quinta on Wednesday.

Valerie Moniz was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Glenn took their win against Magnolia in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 8-1. Will Glenn repeat their success, or does Magnolia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
