Football Recap: Orange Takes a Loss

Orange had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it five. They were beaten by the Eastern Guilford Wildcats 35-0. The Panthers lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-17 score last time.

As for Eastern Guilford, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season so far.

Eastern Guilford was led to victory by Javion Majette and Tyler Whaley-Melvin. Majette rushed for 81 yards and two TDs, while Whaley-Melvin gained 141 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Majette racked up 163 passing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Orange and Eastern Guilford will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Seaforth at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Eastern Guilford, their break will end when they face Southeast Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
