Basketball Recap: Beatty Takes a Loss

Beatty and Round Mountain squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Beatty had to settle for second. They were dealt a 67-26 defeat at the hands of the Round Mountain Knights. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.

Round Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laycii Thibodeaux, who went 10-for-19 on her way to 24 points and four steals. What's more, Thibodeaux also posted a 53% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Layla Faga was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Beatty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Round Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Beatty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Round Mountain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-32 win against Indian Springs on the 15th.
