Basketball Recap: Houlka Victorious

Falkner came into Friday's game looking for another win against Houlka, but Tyler Winter wouldn't allow it. The Houlka Wildcats walked away with a 68-59 victory over the Falkner Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Winter, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Elijah Foster was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.

Falkner lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chris Nunley, who posted 22 points. With that strong performance, Nunley is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Mauney, who put up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Houlka's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Falkner, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.

Houlka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-63 loss against Houston on the 10th. As for Falkner, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-63 victory against Jumpertown on the 10th.
