Football Recap: Benedictine Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Trinity Episcopal

Benedictine faced Trinity Episcopal in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cadets fell 26-21 to the Titans. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Trinity Episcopal's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davion Brown, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Brown got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 96 yards. Trinity Episcopal also got a significant boost from Carson Parks, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Benedictine's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Trinity Episcopal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Benedictine will welcome St. Christopher's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 13.1 points per game this season, so the Cadets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Trinity Episcopal, they will face off against Norfolk Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Titans 12.3, the Bulldogs 10.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
