Soccer Game Preview: Greensboro Day School vs. Wesleyan Christian Academy

Greensboro Day School hasn't had much luck against Wesleyan Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Greensboro Day School barely beat Westchester Country Day the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Greensboro Day School's defense stepped up to hand Westchester Country Day a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for Greensboro Day School as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, High Point Christian Academy kept up with Wesleyan Christian Academy until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. Wesleyan Christian Academy was the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over High Point Christian Academy. Ava Peele was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

The victory was the third in a row for Wesleyan Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Greensboro Day School, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-8.

Greensboro Day School might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Wesleyan Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Greensboro Day School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
