Softball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Sherman Oaks CES strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over the Vaughn White Tigers. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the White Tigers, too.

Araceli Altamirano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sherman Oaks CES got a massive performance out of Kaitlyn Flamenco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Kaylee Teddy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sherman Oaks CES kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Sherman Oaks CES' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Vaughn, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2.
