Recap: Regents Knights vs. Madison Mavericks
The Regents Knights pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-60 walloping at the hands of Madison. While losing is never fun, Regents can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Madison is ranked 151st).
Madison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Moreno, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. Another player making a difference was Caden Cooper, who scored 21 points.
Regents' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Madison, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Regents' road trip will continue as they head out to face The Christian School at Castle Hills at 10:30 a.m. on December 15th. Madison will take on SA Roosevelt in a holiday battle at 8:00 p.m. on Friday at. SA Roosevelt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
