Football Recap: Ludlow Comes Up Short

Ludlow played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 43-6 loss at the hands of the Holy Cross Indians. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Holy Cross found their leader in sophomore Brian Ferguson, who rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 134 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Ferguson. Charles Oglesby was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and a pair of scores.

Ludlow has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Holy Cross, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ludlow will venture away from home to challenge St. Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to square off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Indians 6, the Tigers 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
