Volleyball Recap: Mt. Carmel Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Gabby Schneider and Tenley Davis

Mt. Carmel was the 2-0 winner over Mt. Vernon when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Aces took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Monday.

While Mt. Carmel ultimately came up short, they really made Mt. Vernon work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-21.

Tenley Davis and Gabby Schneider certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Davis had 12 digs and two aces, while Schneider had ten assists and five digs. Davis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mt. Carmel now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Mt. Vernon, their win ended a nine-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-13.

Mt. Carmel has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Newton on the 7th. As for Mt. Vernon, they will challenge Murphysboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
