Baseball Recap: Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Extends Winning Streak to 19

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Benson a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Thunder have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Benson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will head out to face off against St. John's Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder are facing the Johnnies at the right time seeing as the Johnnies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Benson, they will challenge Minnewaska Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
