George Washington hadn't done well against Thomas Jefferson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Patriots blew past the Spartans 10-1. Considering the Patriots have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Wiederholt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs. He has become a key player for George Washington: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10-1 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Alex Sieren looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Henry Kuntner, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Jonah Rascoff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

George Washington's record now sits at 9-10-1. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
