Softball Recap: River Valley Comes Up Short

River Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Michigan Lutheran on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

Addy Lynch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Rylee Rudolph also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

River Valley's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Michigan Lutheran, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

While River Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
