Baseball Game Preview: Baldwin Highlanders vs. McKeesport Tigers

The Baldwin Highlanders will head out on the road to challenge the McKeesport Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Wednesday, Baldwin came up short against Thomas Jefferson and fell 10-5. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, McKeesport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Gateway.

McKeesport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Richard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Caulan Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

McKeesport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Baldwin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
