Volleyball Recap: Colorado Academy Find Success + How To Watch

Colorado Academy hadn't done well against Prospect Ridge Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Miners 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Miners since October 18, 2018.

Colorado Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Prospect Ridge Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-14, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15.

Among those leading the charge was Asha Wagner, who had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

Colorado Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prospect Ridge Academy only served eight.

Hannah Karpowich and DeLaney Ash certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Karpowich had 17 assists and seven digs, while Ash had four digs and two aces. Ash has been hot for a while, having also posted 18 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

The win snapped Colorado Academy's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-8 record. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Looking ahead, Colorado Academy will take on Jefferson Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Golden View Classical Academy on the 25th.
