Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Ysleta

Austin came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Ysleta, but Azaiah Thompson wouldn't allow it. The Ysleta Indians came out on top against the Austin Panthers by a score of 62-54 on Tuesday thanks in part to Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. The contest was his 12th in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Martin Soria, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Ysleta and bumps their season record up to 12-10. As for Austin, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ysleta will challenge Fabens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ysleta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. As for Austin, they will face off against Irvin at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
