Basketball Recap: Lake Forest Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Lake Forest Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past the Grayslake Central Rams with a 60-55 victory on Thursday. This was payback for the Caxys, who suffered a 62-57 loss the last time these two teams met.

The win was the third in a row for Lake Forest Academy, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Grayslake Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Lake Forest Academy will head out on the road to square off against Deerfield at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grayslake Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Grayslake Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Antioch likes a good challenge.
