Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Braves vs. Jonathan Alder Pioneers

Shawnee is 2-8 against Jonathan Alder since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Shawnee Braves are taking a road trip to take on the Jonathan Alder Pioneers at 7:30 p.m.

Shawnee is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Saturday. They fell 56-47 to Indian Lake.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Alder entered their tilt with Versailles on Sunday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 49-29 margin over the Tigers. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

Shawnee now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jonathan Alder, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Shawnee took a serious blow against Jonathan Alder when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 59-30. Can Shawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
