Basketball Recap: Sonora Comes Up Short

Sonora and Roscoe squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sonora had to settle for second. They came up short against the Roscoe Plowboys, falling 63-38. The Broncos have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, Sonora saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brook Kaiser posted eight points and 16 rebounds.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Roscoe, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-9.

Sonora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roscoe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Smyer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smyer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Roscoe likes a good challenge.
