Basketball Game Preview: Maize Eagles vs. Maize South Mavericks

The Maize Eagles will take on the Maize South Mavericks on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Maize is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since January 7th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Salina Central out 32-29.

Meanwhile, Maize South earned a 33-25 victory over Hutchinson on Tuesday. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Salthawks are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maize South is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season. As for Maize, their win bumped their record up to 4-8-1.
