Soccer Game Preview: Hayesville vs. Highlands

Hayesville hasn't had much luck against Highlands recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Hayesville is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to Swain County. While losing is never fun, Hayesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Swain County are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Highlands fell victim to Murphy and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 4-0. Highlands have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hayesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Hayesville might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Highlands when the teams last played back in March. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
