Football Recap: Saks Takes a Loss

Something's probably wrong if your team accumulates more yards in penalties than offense, a fact Saks just learned the hard way. They were beaten by the Pennington Tigers 49-0 on Friday. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Makhi McKenzie threw for 75 yards on ten of 19 attempts.

Pennington found their leader in freshman Gibson Posey, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. Posey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending one pass. Noah McClendon was another key player, gaining 74 total yards and two touchdowns.

Saks' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pennington, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Saks didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-6 loss against Glencoe on the 10th. As for Pennington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 51-0 defeat against Piedmont on the 10th.
