Schaumburg won the last time they faced Hoffman Estates and things went their way on Monday too. The Saxons came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 2-0.

The win didn't come easy: Hoffman Estates scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Hoffman Estates lost, don't look at Spencer Cruz. Despite the final result, he had ten digs and three assists. Cruz has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played.

Schaumburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Hoffman Estates, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Schaumburg will challenge Palatine at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Saxons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hoffman Estates, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Fremd on the 15th.
