Volleyball Recap: Liberty Lancers vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Ridge Wolves. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.

While Liberty had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Trinity Tiner and Kaia Booher, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Shea Taylor and her two assists. Tiner also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Morgan Stone, racking up two apiece.

Vista Ridge found their leader in freshman Toryn Dempsey, who had 27 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Dempsey has posted since back in September.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Vista Ridge, they moved to 6-14 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Walsenburg on the 2nd. Vista Ridge has also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Riverdale Ridge on the 2nd.
