Basketball Recap: Payette Comes Up Short

Payette lost against Marsing back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Payette Pirates were dealt an 80-38 loss at the hands of the Marsing Huskies. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-15.

Despite the defeat, Payette had strong showings from Nathan Cisneros, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Michael Ocampo, who went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Payette dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marsing, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Payette won't have much time to rest: their next match is against New Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marsing, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Liberty Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
