Baseball Recap: Wenonah Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Wenonah had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Woodlawn Colonels 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Colonels back in February, they had to take a 8-6 loss.

Amari Matthews was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those seven stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Spencer, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2.

Wenonah's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Woodlawn, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Coincidentally, Wenonah and Woodlawn will both be playing Parker the next time they take the field. The Colonels will host the Thundering Herd at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Dragons will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
