Basketball Recap: Dooly County Comes Up Short

Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 106-35 loss at the hands of the Crisp County Cougars. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-14.

When it comes to explaining why Dooly County lost, don't look at Sean Sallette. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Sallette continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Even though they lost, Dooly County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 11th loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Zakariyya Dwight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Crisp County, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 13 boards, and 12 blocks. Dwight has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 24 times he's played. Jaylon Cooper was another key player, going 8 for 15 en route to 20 points.

Dooly County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Crisp County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

Dooly County has already played their next match, a 56-43 loss against Telfair County on the 1st. As for Crisp County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-51 win against Pierce County on the 1st.
