Softball Recap: Hallsville Falls Short of Lone Star in the Playoffs

Hallsville and Lone Star squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Hallsville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 12-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bobcats, who until this matchup were averaging 2.29 runs allowed.

Hope Miles was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Jones, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hallsville's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 30-4-1. As for Lone Star, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10-1 record this season.

While Hallsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
