Baseball Recap: Ashbrook Takes a Loss

Ashbrook extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-10. They came up short against the North Gaston Wildcats, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 back in March.

As for North Gaston, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.

For North Gaston's part, Jaxen Noblett looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Noblett also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Wildcats are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Mason, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Cunningham, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
