Baseball Game Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Oakville Tigers

The Valley Park Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Oakville Tigers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Valley Park 3, Oakville 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Valley Park sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Hazelwood West.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Oakville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Festus 3-2. Oakville hasn't had any issues with Festus recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Oakville's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Park, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Valley Park couldn't quite finish off Oakville in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 and fell 13-11. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
