Recap: Tabor Academy Seawolves vs. Brooks

Even though the Tabor Academy Seawolves have not done well against Brooks recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Tabor Academy blew past Brooks, posting a 53-20 win on the road. Given Tabor Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Brooks is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hugo junior Djeumeni was a one-man wrecking crew for Tabor Academy as he rushed for 427 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 17.1 yards per carry. Djeumeni's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Bengtson, who threw for 106 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Tabor Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Middlesex and 3-5 Brooks (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 32.5% over those games). As for Brooks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Tabor Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckingham Browne & Nichols at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buckingham Browne & Nichols is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Brooks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
