Volleyball Game Preview: Balboa Buccaneers vs. Lowell Cardinals

Balboa is 1-6 against Lowell since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Buccaneers will face off against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Balboa is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Burton as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Pumas recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Balboa walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Lowell beat Washington 3-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Lowell was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 21-25, 25-15, 25-14.

Lowell pushed their record up to 18-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Balboa, their victory bumped their record up to 21-13.

Balboa came out on top in a nail-biter against Lowell in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
