Lyman comes up short despite Max Mattingly's strong performance

Recap: Lyman Greyhounds vs. Lake Howell Silver Hawks

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lyman Greyhounds can now relate to. They lost to the Silver Hawks on the road by a decisive 67-53 margin on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lyman in their matchups with Lake Howell: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lyman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Max Mattingly. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Mattingly is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamarius Joyner, who scored four points along with six rebounds.

Lake Howell was led to victory by Mason Fritz and Janiel De los santos. Fritz dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while De los santos scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. De los santos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon A. Samuels, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Lake Howell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Lyman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Howell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 defeat vs. Oviedo on the 10th.
