Recap: Exeter Monarchs vs. Dos Palos Broncos
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Exeter Monarchs can now relate to. They fell 28-21 to the Broncos on Friday. The match was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Exeter couldn't answer the 7 points Dos Palos scored afterwards.
Exeter's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ruben Ruiz, who picked up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 35 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Molina, who threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dos Palos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Van worth, who threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Andre Flores, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown.
Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Dos Palos, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Exeter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dos Palos will be playing at home against Torres at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Torres will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
