Volleyball Recap: Olivia Gast Key Part of Team Effort in Redskins Win

St. Henry won the last time they faced Franklin Monroe, and Morgan Baumer did her part to make sure it happened again. The Redskins were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jets on Tuesday for which the team can thank Baumer, who had 11 digs and six aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Henry took every set by at least 20 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-2, 25-4.

St. Henry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Gast led the charge by getting eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Gast has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Buschur, who had five digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: St. Henry was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matches.

St. Henry's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Franklin Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, St. Henry is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Minster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Franklin Monroe, they will challenge Twin Valley South at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
