Baseball Recap: Parkview Comes Up Short

Parkview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Reeds Spring Wolves. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Parkview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kooper Bullock, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Jermaine Townsend also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Parkview's loss dropped their record down to 0-27. As for Reeds Spring, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Parkview and Reeds Spring could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 407th) will meet Republic (ranked 104th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Reeds Spring will challenge Springfield Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (348 vs. 56).
