Baseball Recap: Priest River Triumphs

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Priest River and Kellogg meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 5-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-1 victory on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Colton Kuprienko, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Priest River's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Kellogg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

The timing isn't great for Priest River: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Bulldogs have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Kellogg will square off against Timberlake and their four-game winning streak at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
