Baseball Game Preview: Ballard Memorial Bombers vs. Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado

The Ballard Memorial Bombers will head out to challenge the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Ballard Memorial turned things around against Mayfield on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Cardinals. The Bombers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 14-3).

Lance Scott was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Duren, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Mary typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Paducah Tilghman proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Vikings. The Blue Tornado haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Ballard Memorial's record is now 5-17. As for Paducah Tilghman, their record now sits at 12-3.

Ballard Memorial might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Paducah Tilghman when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bombers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
