Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield Quakers vs. Ben Davis Giants

The Plainfield Quakers will venture away from home to challenge the Ben Davis Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plainfield has three straight wins, Ben Davis has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Plainfield is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Danville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Quakers blew the Warriors out of the water with an 81-39 final score. The Quakers pushed the score to 63-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had little chance of recovering from.

Hannah Menser had an outrageously good game as she went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (75%). Berkeley Williams was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Ben Davis didn't have quite enough to beat Brownsburg on Saturday and fell 46-44. While the Giants didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 18-11 in the first quarter.

Plainfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Ben Davis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Plainfield's way against Ben Davis when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Plainfield made off with a 59-36 win. In that contest, the Quakers amassed a halftime lead of 39-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
