Basketball Recap: Adairsville Comes Up Short

Adairsville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost to the Northview Titans on the road by a 58-40 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Titans are ranked 68th).

Leading Northview to victory were Milan Johnson and Tamariana Bivins. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards, while Bivins posted nine points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Bivins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harmonee Jackson, who put up seven points and three steals.

Adairsville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Northview, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Adairsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-22 loss against Heritage on the 10th. As for Northview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-6 victory against Clarkston on the 10th.
