Basketball Recap: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Comes Up Short

After flying high against DSST: College View last Tuesday, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART came back down to earth. The Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls came up short against the Montbello Warriors on Thursday, falling 56-32.

Leading Montbello to victory were Juanita Dixon and Brittany Saldivar. Dixon posted 20 points and three steals, while Saldivar went 7-for-15 en route to 17 points and three steals. Those 17 points gave Saldivar a new career-high. Jameya McMillion was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Montbello, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montbello, they and KIPP Denver Collegiate will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. KIPP Denver Collegiate will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Montbello surely won't give up without a fight.
