Baseball Recap: Etiwanda Wins Going Away Against Upland

Etiwanda won the last time they faced Upland and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Highlanders/Scots. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Michael Aleman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Frank Gonzales was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derick Kim, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Etiwanda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are undefeated (5-0) when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Etiwanda back to even at 11-11-1. As for Upland, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Etiwanda beat the Highlanders/Scots by a score of 3-2 on Friday.
