Baseball Recap: Fowlerville Comes Up Short

Fowlerville extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They came up short against the Mason Bulldogs, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Tuesday.

Fowlerville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erik Helminen, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Mason, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

On Mason's side, they got a massive performance out of Maddox Armour, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Armour has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton McCaleb, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fowlerville will take on Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Orioles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Gladiators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mason, they will face off against Holt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
