Basketball Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Takes a Loss

Arcadia/Loup City lost against Centura back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centura Centurions. The Rebels' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Arcadia/Loup City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Jaixen posted 17 points. Max Lewandowski was another key player, putting up six points and 11 boards.

Centura got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyus Francl out in front who to rack up 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Fries, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Arcadia/Loup City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Centura, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Arcadia/Loup City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-35 loss against Doniphan-Trumbull on the 21st. As for Centura, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-40 win against St. Cecilia on the 21st.
