Polytechnic is a perfect 9-0 against Firebaugh since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Polytechnic and four for Firebaugh.

Polytechnic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Jurupa Hills, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-3 on Saturday.

Alex Chui and Alejandro KohnRabassa stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chui went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while KohnRabassa went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Chui's first of the season. Caiden Kennedy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh fell victim to Arroyo and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 17-0 to the Knights.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Polytechnic's way against Firebaugh in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, as Polytechnic made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
