Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Springs Falls Short of Brillion in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Mary's Springs can now relate to. They fell just short of the Brillion Lions by a score of 51-48 on Friday. The Ledgers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Brillion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amaya Brooks, who shot 46% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. The match was Brooks' fourth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Schuh, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

St. Mary's Springs' loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Brillion, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

St. Mary's Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brillion, they have already played their next game, a 59-56 defeat against Manitowoc Lutheran on the 1st.
