Volleyball Recap: Eldorado Firehawks vs. Desert Pines Jaguars
Eldorado extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 12-15. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Desert Pines Jaguars. The Firehawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Gabriel Lacaran paced Eldorado's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lacaran got some help from Alan Ceja and his 39 assists. Ceja was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.
As for Desert Pines, their win ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 9, 2025.
Desert Pines had a senior duo take command as Jayden Wade-Rosas had 30 kills, 16 digs, four blocks, and three aces and Kevin Pacheco Jimenez had 13 digs and four aces. Wade-Rosas is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Harper, who had 12 digs and seven kills.
As of now, neither Eldorado nor Desert Pines have any future games scheduled.
