Baseball Recap: Weed Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Weed faced off against Redding Christian on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Lions, falling 14-6. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Andrew Hill was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.

Weed is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3. As for Redding Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Weed will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Shasta at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Redding Christian, they will head out to square off against Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
