After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sacramento Waldorf, Encina was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with an 83-70 win over the Forest Lake Christian Falcons. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Encina's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalani Draper, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of PhilliP Worsham, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 20 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Encina was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Forest Lake Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brendan Hooper almost dropped a double-double on 40 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Fenton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Encina's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Forest Lake Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Encina will head out to square off against Foresthill at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Forest Lake Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Futures at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Futures has three straight wins, Forest Lake Christian has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
