Softball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 9-19. They came up short against the Keller Indians, falling 9-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 back in March.

As for Keller, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9-1. Considering they have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Keller's part, Sydona Meiser and Lauren Kavanaugh did most of the damage at the plate: Meiser went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Kavanaugh went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Beaman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Trinity will look to defend their home field on Saturday against V.R. Eaton at 3:00 p.m. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Keller, they will take on Timber Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
